2017 marked 150 years for diplomatic relations between Japan and Denmark. For this reason, Danish ceramicist Anne Black and the designer Akira Minagawa have worked together in two workshops under the title 'Forest in the ocean'.

The cooperation has evolved over the years. Initially, as a stockist of minä perhonen in the shop black, and then in a joint creative project that started in December 2016, where Akira Minagawa visited Copenhagen and then in November 2017, where Anne Black visited Tokyo. Here they completed 25 unique works. In different Danish and Japanese clay types, Anne Black designed the ceramic objects, after which Akira Minagawa decorated them.

The working title 'Forest in the ocean' arose in the conversation about what is common for Japan and Denmark, among other things, being a land with a lot of forest surrounded by sea.

Now 14 of the works is exhibited in Copenhagen.

Please stop by and see the forest made in serenity and warmth.
