JAKUETS
Minagawa and minä perhonen designed the playground equipment and uniforms together with JAKUETS, a company that designs, manufactures and sells childcare materials, playground equipment and children's clothing. The playground equipment was designed by Minagawa with a motif of natural objects to encourage children's sensitivity and physicality.
The 'kivi' is, a playing object, inspired by the shape of a stone found on the beach and is made up of organic curved surfaces. 'Bird in the nest' is, a slide, inspired by the image of a bird resting in its nest. The experience of climbing up the uneven surface in a free route itself is thought to nurture children's free thinking and sensibility. 'Flower bird' is, a playing vehicle, evoking the feeling of flying through the air on a flapping bird. We designed the school in such a way that we imagined a landscape of many birds in a row, like a flock of migratory birds flying in a flock.
The concept behind the uniform design was to express the joy and happy experience at preschool, which is the first place of social communication for the children. Whenever there is a celebratory occasion at home or at school, or when they have achieved something, the flowers and butterflies hidden in the circle are opened along with their memories. These motifs express the idea that the seeds of dreams and hopes will blossom and become flowers one day.
