"knot" 2013ss

This pattern was designed with the idea of tying a border pattern. When I drew knots, an ordinary border pattern suddenly gained depth and space.

Tightly knotted ribbons are connected, never to be separated again. It is like giving a hug to something we love, or to be told "It is alright!", just like to be cheered by somebody. I hope people will have the same feeling.

When I go to a shrine, I am fascinated to see fortunes tied. Each one of the countless knots is tied with someone's wish, and I always feel that I like to be encouraged again by the act of tying, which is similar to determination.
