"mela" 2015^→s/s

This design is expressed with a simple form of an apple fruit. One of our designs of using an apple tree as a motif, is a textile called "ringo". We wanted to depict apple fruit.

Apples have been a part of people's lives all over the world since the time of Adam and Eve, and are very familiar to us. It is used in many different kinds of sweets and alcoholic beverages. And now it has become the name of a technology company called Apple Inc. and therefore is more and more deeply connected to people's lives.

For me, apples are a warm reminder of my grandmother making grated apples for me when I had a fever. I vividly remember the painful feeling of having a fever but looking forward to eating the grated apple.

I am sure that everyone has different sceneries of memories related to apples. It is interesting to see how a design with the same motif connect with different memories depending on the people who sees them.
