"after rain" 2021ss

I drew this design last year when I had many opportunities to design at home due to COVID-19 pandemic. When I was thinking about where design should be heading for in the new season, I came to the conclusion that the scenery that people will see when they overcome the situation and create a new society in the future, will be like light streaming through the clouds after the rain.

More than the sunshine on a clear day, the light shining through the clouds reminds us that it is heading to where we are. I imagined that the design would help us find a light for our new lives. I thought that this might be a starting point for thinking about the new future, while keeping a balance with the environment in lives of people.

Design finds sources of ideas from the society and consciousness of the time. Therefore, I believe that when we look back on this design in years or decades to come, we will be looking back on the perspective of life behind the design.
