"Tama" 2002ss

"Tama" 2002ss

This design is made using a patterned Kasuri weaving technique called "Hogushi-ori". This process cannot be done without the cooperation of the printing and weaving factories. Warp threads are printed on a loom and weft threads are woven to create the pattern with a kasuri look. The weaving loom does not always work exactly, so a person accompanies the weaver and watches over the weaving process.

In the old days, people who thought, made, and wore such things loved them and loved to live with them. I think it was possible in a society where all the people who made and wore the items loved them and cherished them for a long time. It's not worth the time and effort to create a cycle that people will soon tire of and stop wearing the items.

A cat named "Tama" is taking a walk under the open sky. This is the moment he noticed us and our eyes met. I believe that seemingly irrational and inefficient way of creating such a tranquil moment with a lot of effort and human passion weaves a rich time.
