"pastoral" 2017-18a/w

For some reason, I like herringbone patterns, and I've been drawing a variety types of the pattern. This pattern was one of several sketches I tried to create a three-dimensional, overlapping herringbone pattern. Like half-circle folded over, which is stacked on top of a mountainous line of herringbone. At first glance, it may not look like a herringbone pattern.

A constraint is a kind of frame that helps to determine the direction of the design. Nevertheless, sometimes I would like to explore the depth of possibility like a horizon line, a boundary line that goes further and further away, the more I head towards there.

I think that the unknown designs that we encounter there are reason for new senses of the designers.
