minä perhonen 30th anniversary exhibition + akira minagawa art works
“minä” means me and “perhonen” means butterfly in Finnish.
May everyone be their true selves when wearing minä perhonen.
May we continue to create beautiful designs like the wings of countless butterflies in nature. “minä perhonen” was named with such wishes.
Founded by Akira Minagawa in 1995, minä perhonen celebrated its 30th anniversary on May 22, 2025.
Over the past 30 years, minä perhonen, which began in the field of fashion, has participated in many design projects that connect with society, allowing the company to expand its creative field from many angles. This exhibition will focus on fashion, which is the starting point of the brand, and showcase the collections created over the past 30 years.
Akira Minagawa, the founder and designer of the brand, has not only been designing for the brand in recent years, but has also been actively engaged in his own creative activities. This exhibition will feature lithographs produced at Idem Paris, as well as paintings, ceramics, and a wide range of other works. Unlike his usual design work, the artwork that he creates expresses his imaginative worldview that makes you feel as if you are reading a novel. They seem like they are directly posing questions to a viewer’s heart.
We liken the start of our brand by Akira Minagawa to a dew dropped on the wide, calm surface of water, causing ripples that reach far and wide, gently and gently, and those who have supported the brand to light that shines the surface of the water, creating a beautiful view of the lake that is minä perhonen.
We hope that everyone will enjoy how the first drop of water has caused ripples that created the view of minä perhonen.
