Even on a cold winter day, may it be accompanied by moments of joy to spend a relaxing time inside your bedroom or sofa. In order to bring out the playful appearance, touch to the skin, and a special feeling to the warmth of the blanket, a thread for weaving the blanket was developed.

The factory that weaves the blanket is a textile factory in Hannou. At this factory, a preparatory process carried out before thread guard, a process to adjust the warp, known as warping, is carried out.

5,000 warps are used in a blanket. Necessary warps are prepared at the same length and tension.

Here are warps that are awaiting their turn to be thread guarded onto the loom. To avoid tangling, they are twisted in bundles. The look of it is quite beautiful.

On this day, one of the looms were weaving a tambourine blanket.

To obtain warmth and a soft texture, wool loop threads were developed for this blanket.

Though voluminous, in order to obtain a soft texture that follows the body line and wraps around it, the blanket was perfected after several trials.

Weaving is done by machine, but the process requires the delicate adjustment by human hands. To prevent the soft thread from cutting, the tension on the thread and speed at which it is woven is adjusted.

During inspection upon completion of weaving, both the surface and the back of the blanket is checked. To ensure both sides are beautiful and smooth to the touch, the entire blanket is stroke by the hand and inspected by the eye. Little bumps created by threads or parts with seemingly uneven weaves are mended.

While being woven, the threads in the loop may become uneven in coarseness and fineness because they are crumpled. These parts are mended using a needle and adding a loop of thread.

Afterwards, the textile for the blanket is finished in Bishu, Aichi prefecture, by taking time to raise the naps and obtaining a soft texture.

Around the edge of the blanket, all around, an embroidery embellishment known as clams are applied.

A blanket holder was made for when the blanket is not in use or when there is a need to carry it around.

We hope you cherish this special blanket for a long time. If maintenance becomes necessary while using, please feel free to contact us.
