In Salone del Mobile 2016, designer Akira Minagawa created the delicate yet playful installation FOREST COMES HOME. for Milan showroom of Kvadrat. In this artwork, Minagawa represented a scene when rain drops appeared, fell to the ground then jumped.
Dialogue between the designer Minagawa and Kvadrat has been made since 2006. Akira Minagawa’s new textile collection was beautifully incorporated in this installation. Forest as ‘for rest’, he employed natural elements such as trees, flowers, rain drops and nuts as motifs, hoping this upholstery fabric to provide peaceful time and space. The textile collection for Kvadrat as well as cushions and blankets covered in our archive textile collection will be on sale worldwide.
